I am writing to provide feedback on our recent Saga cruise which we booked though Theresa Kelly at Not Just Travel Wanderlust. My husband and I have not been able to take a holiday for a few years because of health issues, having been regular travellers. We had had favourable reports of Saga Cruises and felt that they might be answer, with their inclusion package, and identified a Round UK 10-day cruise from Dover. We were somewhat apprehensive about this but as it was free from all the hassle of airports etc, we were hopeful that it might work.

We had been put in touch with Theresa Kelly at Not Just Travel by a mutual friend so we contacted her and I have to say the rest was easy. Theresa was so professional about our queries, looking at available sailings, cabins etc and insurance, which hitherto had been a real item. As it was round UK, we used Saga’s own insurance with a small supplement for a couple of issues but it took minutes instead of the usual hour-long interrogation.

 

Theresa sorted everything out, from which tour excursions we were interested in to the number of bags we wanted to take and gave advice on anything that we were concerned about, verbally and with written response.

 

Several days before our due departure, we received all the paperwork and it was all correct, the tickets and labels and advice on embarkation procedures. Two days before departure, we had a phone call from the driver of our pick-up car giving us reassurance that all would be well with the journey to Dover, about 4 hours, and we could ask for comfort breaks whatever.

 

All worked seamlessly. Our driver was a most courteous, professional gentleman who was employed by a company contracted by Saga. The luggage was taken from hall to car to Dover to cabin! Arrival at Dover was swiftly followed by embarkation procedures, photographs etc We were given our cruise cards and invited to board. It could not have been easier.

 

The Saga Ship, Spirit of Discovery, is lovely; we had a spacious cabin with a very attentive steward who met all our needs, more pillows, fruit, items for the fridge etc. There are several restaurants on board; the Grill buffet is superb, the main Dining Room is also good and there are 3 speciality restaurants, La Vie En Rose, Coast to Coast and an Asian one. One is advised to book these asap as they book up very early on in the cruises. The quality of the food is of a very high standard but I was somewhat disappointed with the fish dishes served, as they tended to be over-cooked and lacked imagination.  The Entertainment is good with several areas where one could access different types of music. The lectures were interesting and the organised- classes were very enjoyable; I joined the Art Class and my husband had some golf tuition. There were 6 ports of call, 4 sea days and 2 formal nights; the shore excursions varied. It all passed too quickly and once back to Dover we had another relaxed journey from Ship to home.

 

Saga do take care of you. Their prices reflect the fact that the holidays are all-inclusive.

 

Thank you once again to Theresa Kelly from Not Just Travel Wanderlust for giving us our confidence back to go on holiday. We will certainly be considering booking something else in the near future with her.

Thanks again for organising our trip, everything went off smoothly, all flights worked well and the hotel you recommended in Bali was excellent. We really enjoyed it, the restaurants were good and not too expensive, even the weather was kind to us (even though the rainy season had started).  The transfer company you organised was excellent service, even presenting us with a Lei and a bottle of chilled water as we got in the taxi, which was very welcome.

I would definitely give the trip and your service 5 stars and would definitely use your services again.

There is something rewarding about using a small, specialist agency to deliver a tailor made trip, and we were not disappointed. Despite sending them up a few blind alleys on other possible trips, Theresa and Jim never lost heart. They delivered a wonderful bespoke family trip to Reykjavik and arranged all the details for us. Communication was perfect and at no point did we feel we needed to know something more, or feel we were left on our own - even when a trip was cancelled due to the weather and they kept us informed and rebooked. Great help from start to finish I highly recommend booking with them. My wife and I booked four nights in Majorca for a mini honeymoon without the kids. Unfortunately our flight was diverted to Barcelona due to storms over Spain. We received a personal call from Theresa to see if she could help, the back office also called us on the night and the next day to make sure we arrived ok. When we did finally arrive at our apartment we were greeted with an amazing surprise, rose petals all over the bed, sweets, champagne and towel art! Lovely surprise from Not Just Travel Wanderlust. Top level of service throughout, will definitely be using them again. ??

Not only did they help me book an amazing experience in China, they provided me with constant support throughout, and with the rising hostilities between China and Hong Kong, they made sure I was safe, comfortable and far from any dangers, swapping my flights so I wouldn't be at any risk. An amazing, professional team. From the minute of the enquiry I felt a valued customer. No question felt stupid and they would try to answer anything I asked honestly. They went above and beyond and sent simple extras i.e. best places to eat, visit, how to travel around the city etc ! This was then something I wouldn’t have to research and they done this off their own accord without me asking for help!

After receiving a brief that consisted of 'My 79 year old Mum wants to go to Poland', Jim and Theresa found Mum and I a fantastic 10 day trip to Poland and Germany. Visiting historic places, walking (about 38 miles in total) around beautiful cities and eating far too much delicious Polish ice cream (you must try). If you get the opportunity to go to Krakow and Berlin - Go! It's the little things that matter when booking a holiday... a call the day before you leave to check all is ok, a text at the airport to wish you a good holiday, a dedicated number to call should you have any issues. Jim and Theresa certainly go that extra mile. I will definitely be booking through 'notjusttravelwanderlust' again.... this time the brief will be 'sun, cocktails and relaxation'.
